List of Potential Errors
Time
Latest DataPoint
- Data Point was not created recently - Ensure that the dongle is emitting a solid blue light and that it has a stable internet connection please see - https://kb.givenergy.cloud/article.php?id=1&oid=1
Inverter
Meters
- Meters Not Enabled - Ensure that you have input meters into the commission, if so go to my inverters > remote control > enable meters to the amount installed.
- Meters enabled but not being read - Ensure that the meter communications are stable and connected into the correct socket on the underside of the inverter, please see the installation manual for reference.
Alarms
- INV_PV_OVER_VOLTAGE - Please check that the string voltage does not exceed 580VDC
- INV_NO_UTILITY - Please ensure that the AC supply is switched on and the AC connections are tight and sound
- INV_GFCI_FAULT - Please make sure that there is no DC voltage to earth
- STORAGE_ERROR_PV_OVER_VOLTAGE - Please check that the string voltage does not exceed 580VDC'
- STORAGE_ERROR_NO_UTILITY - Please ensure that the AC supply is switched on and the AC connections are tight and sound'
- STORAGE_ERROR_GFCI_FAULT - Please make sure that there is no DC voltage to earth
- STORAGE_ERROR_BACKUP_OVERLOAD_FAULT - Please ensure that the EPS load does not exceed the inverter power rating
- STORAGE_WARN_BMS_UNDER_VOLTAGE - Please ensure that the battery is turned on and the first LED indicator is green
- STORAGE_WARN_BMS_SHORT_CURRENT_DISCHARGER - Please ensure that the polarity is correct on the battery DC cables
- STORAGE_WARN_BMS_COM_FAIL - Please check that the BMS communication cable between the battery and inverter is connected correctly
- STORAGE_WARN_BATTERY_VOLTAGE_LOW - Please ensure that the battery is turned on and the first LED indicator is green
- ELECTRICITY_METER_COM_FAIL - Ensure that the meter communications are stable and connected into the correct socket on the underside of the inverter
- STORAGE_ERROR_BAT_UNDER_VOLTAGE_FAULT - Please ensure that the battery is turned on and the first LED indicator is green
- STORAGE_WARN_BATTERY_SOC_LOW - Please ensure that the battery is turned on and the first LED indicator is green
- STORAGE_ERROR_BMS_COM_FAIL - Please check that the BMS communication cable between the battery and inverter is connected correctly
Power Logic
- battery-not-charging - Battery is not charging from excess, please attempt to restart the inverter and battery, should this not resolve this error please contact support
- 'battery-not-discharging': 'Battery is not discharging to meet demand, please attempt to restart the inverter and battery, should this not resolve this error please contact support
Home
Home Power
- 1: Ensure the ID1 CT is facing towards the consumer unit
- 2: Ensure that the polarity of both power and communications are correct on the EM115 Meter
- 3: Ensure that all generation sources are being monitored correctly
Grid
Grid Voltage
- Too High - Ensure that the AC isolator is switched on and the AC connections on the underside of the inverter are tight and sound, if connections are good please contact the local DNO.
- Too Low - Ensure that the AC isolator is switched on and the AC connections on the underside of the inverter are tight and sound, if connections are good please contact the local DNO.
Battery
Specific Battery Capacity
- 1: Ensure that the battery packs are turned on
- 2: Ensure that the DC MCB is on
- 3: Ensure that the BMS communication cable is plugged in correctly and the polarity is correct
- 4: Contact GivEnergy Support
Battery Count
- 1: Ensure that the battery packs are turned on
- 2: Ensure that the BMS communication cable is plugged in correctly and the polarity is correct

Battery Firmware Version
- 'If your computer has renamed the file to something other than BMS_ARM.bin then please right click and rename.
- Place the downloaded file on to an empty memory stick with no other files or folders on it.
- DO NOT RENAME OR MODIFY THE FILE AT THIS POINT
- Insert the memory stick into the USB port on the inside of the battery pack and leave it there until the battery pack emits a long, continuous beep.
- Do this for every battery pack that is not updated, wait a moment then update the checklist.',
No Battery Capacity
Battery Voltage
- This inverter must be generating a minimum of 180W to activate the battery - please attempt this again at a time of suitable generation.
PV
PV Generation
- 1: Ensure that the string inverter is switched on and generating
- 2: Ensure that the relevant PV CT clamp is positioned correctly and that communication is stable
- Hybrid: 'Ensure that PV string :string is connected into the correct input on the inverter
- Please contact GivEnergy Support
